Hello!
My name is Rute Marques and I’m an international PR expert, a proud political scientist turned communicator decades ago, and a team-focused Corporate Affairs leader.
I have 23+ years of experience in global, regional, and in-market roles, 16 of which are in healthcare. I have been honored to lead small teams and large teams, across all geographies and time zones.
I was happy to receive the RAGAN and PR Daily’s Communicator of the Year Award Winner 2022. That same year, I became CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified by Cambridge Assessment English, a division of the University of Cambridge.
At ROK Communications, I serve as Owner and Chief Executive, and I partner with like-minded experts to deliver our services in full alignment with our mission: to activate kindness as an authentic communication lever in business and in life.
Although we often split in two who we are professionally and personally, we are one. In complement to the above, I am Fred’s partner (a very grouchy web developer that I admire deeply), stepmother to Sasha (living her pre-teenager years in true Adams Family style), and carer of Sushi (the cat) and Wasabi (the dog). I am a podcast aficionada to escape the world when it gets too busy.
